The 5k race will start and finish at Birnie Park, and is limited to runners and walkers.
The Morgan Lake Challenge is open to Runners, Walkers, and Cyclists. The race starts on the corner of 2nd & B streets, approximately 6 blocks (2 south, 4 west) from the Eastern Oregon University Campus, to the top of Morgan Lake Road. It is a challenging uphill, with a distance of roughly 2.35 miles.
Proceeds from this event will be donated to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in honor of Jason Werst.

Entries: Entry fee is $20.00 per person, or $7.00 for EOU Students. Race shirt is included in the registration price. Race day registration will be available from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. the morning of the race at Birnie Park, just South of the EOU Campus.
If you are participating in the Morgan Lake Challenge, to avoid congestion, please do not park a vehicle at the top of Morgan Lake Road. Transportation will be available back to Birnie Park.

Directions To EOU:
From I-84 West bound:
· Take Exit 265, the first La Grande exit. · Turn left onto US Highway 30. Turn left on Gekeler Lane, next to the UPS terminal. · Continue on Gekeler Lane until it become C Ave. · Birnie Park is located where Gekeler become C Ave.
From I-84 East bound:
· Take Exit 259; proceed on US Highway 30 into La Grande. · Turn right at the second set of lights - onto Fourth Street. · Continue on Fourth Street until you reach the "C" Avenue. · Turn left on "C" Avenue, Birnie Park is just past 6th St. on the right side of the road.

Packet Pickup and Race Day Registration for all races will be at Birnie Park, just South of the EOU Campus on C St, from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. Refreshments and awards at the conclusion of the races will also be at Birnie Park. |
