4th Annual Werst Race

The 1 Mile and 5k races will consist of a 1 mile loop around the Eastern Oregon University Campus.  These races are limited to runners and walkers.

 

The Morgan Lake Challenge is open to Runners, Walkers, and Cyclists.  The race starts on the corner of 2nd & B streets, approximately 6 blocks (2 south, 4 west) from the Eastern Oregon University Campus, to the top of Morgan Lake Road.  It is a challenging uphill, with a distance of roughly 2.35 miles. 

 

Proceeds from this event will be divided between Jason Werst a former EOU All-American runner and cyclist Jason to help with medical expenses incurred from his recent battle with leukemia, and The American Cancer Society.

 

 

 

Entries:

Entry fee is $20.00 per person, or $25.00 per person with a t-shirt.  Current EOU student can participate for $10 and $15 respectively.  Race day registration will be available from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. the morning of the race at Community Stadium on the EOU Campus.

 

If you are participating in the Morgan Lake Challenge, to avoid congestion, please do not park a vehicle at the top of Morgan Lake Road.  Transportation will be available back to Community Stadium.

 

 

 

Directions To EOU:

 

From I-84 West bound:

 

· Take Exit 265, the first La Grande exit.

· Turn left onto US Highway 30. Turn left on Gekeler Lane, next to the UPS terminal.

· Continue on Gekeler Lane until you reach 6th Street.

· Turn right onto 6th Street.

· Community Stadium is on the Corner of 6th & G.

 

From I-84 East bound:

 

· Take Exit 259; proceed on US Highway 30 into La Grande.

· Turn right at the second set of lights - onto Fourth Street.

· Continue on Fourth Street until you reach the "G" Avenue.

· Turn left on "G" Avenue, Community Stadium is on the Corner of 6th & G.

Packet Pickup and Race Day Registration for all races will be inside Community Stadium on the Eastern Oregon University Campus from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m.  Refreshments and awards at the conclusion of the races will also be inside Community Stadium.
